Week 7 assignment #2


1.      How can you ensure that your struggling readers have access to texts they can easily read?
It is very important to have a class library or a large collection of appropriately leveled books. In order to help struggling readers better their reading skills teachers should make sure that they have access to books on their level. Through having a large selection of books of various levels all children can have the materials they need to improve their reading.

2.      How can you foster a learning environment in which students have many opportunities to practice reading?
By having, various learning and reading centers students will be able to have many opportunities to practice reading. Throughout the day there should be times where students are given time to read texts on their level independently or in a peer/group setting. This way they can practice and better their reading skills.

3.      Describe ways in which you can model fluent reading in your classroom throughout the day.
I would make sure to model fluent reading whenever reading a text to the class regardless of which subject being taught.
I would make sure to point out the important aspects of fluent reading and model the wrong and right ways
